Because, I believe that a 'fetish' need not be of the typical variety. Latex, leather, and lace are nice no doubt... As are next-gen PCS phones, flat-screen HDTVs, performance automobiles (perhaps the highest-technology a consumer can get his/her hands on), those sexy night-vision goggles and whatever else tickles your fancy. Actually, I am curious about this... what are your technofetishes?

The flying car is on its way(moller.com). Robots as friend next 20 years easy. In 20 years computing capacity will be up there with humans. A a nice dose of gene therapy to make live a little longer and boost my mouse brain a tad.

If you want friendly robots check out Sony's Qrio- its the first robot designed to be a companion for people. Its bipedal, can dance, works in teams. Waaay more advanced than Aibo.

I don’t know if it’s a fetish, more of a mild obsession, but I want cheap, free, easily accessible public teleportation discs. They would be safe and nearly instant, and available within a mile of wherever you are… at least eventually. For a bit of cash on your part, you could purchase your own private teleportation disc and have it installed on your roof or your living room or wherever.

    I NEED these.

I'd settle for an autonomous vehicle.
With a bed in it. Oh, and a shower.
O.K., how about an autonomous motor home?
I'd want it to run on some zero-emission scheme. Isotopes or something.
